Plexifilm DVD Series
Under the Plexifilm label, I designed a series of four DVDs showcasing Alvin Lustig, Matthew Leibowitz, Paul Rand, and Reid Miles. Together, these four designers established and continued to influence the New York Style.
This series is designed to contextualize each designer within the inner workings of the human existence: the soul, mind, heart, and voice. The front of each DVD is a die cut of a design by the artist. Behind each die cut, showing through, is an image or images embodying each artist’s style and work (representing the inner workings). Once opened, the DVD is camouflaged into the background to emphasize these artists’ designs may blend into today’s world, but their importance continues to hold the key to how identity is defined within design.
